Why aren't food stamps cut when kids go back to school?

We pay for them to eat there for 2 and sometimes 3 meals.

Seems like double dipping to me.

The amount that goes to the home should be cut.

Too complicated, the dept of Agriculture is giving food stamps to people who make 80,000 dollars a years so they wouldn't care.

Yes it should. I work volunteer a lot at school. Kids meals are very regulated. Each meal must contain the following: Protein, Grain, Vegetable, Fruit and Milk. All these for the price of $.40 if you are on reduced lunches. My kid pays $2.50 per meal. Our meals cost $12.50 per week. $50 per month. A family with one child on reduced lunches pays $8 a month for reduced lunch. Just saying.

Where I live those kids can go to the school for meals in the summer too. In fact, they do not have to sign in or say they get food Stamps. There is exercise and games on the school ground and the gym.

Of course the monthly benefit is 120 dollars a month. I go to the grocery store for one meal and it costs me 60 dollars.

Because the kids still have to eat on the weekends.

The average MONTHLY benefit is around $250. That's not a whole lot to feed a family of 4 for a month.

Most public schools give kids 1 meal a day

You try living off of a hot dog and 1/2 pint of milk a day.

Let me guess, you don't want to help them pay for their health problems associated with malnutrition either, huh?

Make them starve and them make their suffering a spectator sport?

Because nobody but you wants to cut food stamps when kids go back to school.

Why doesn't government do exactly what I want all of the time?

I just wish they'd cut the fruit program provided in many of the schools. You haven't lived 'til you've cleaned apricots off the walls. The little darlings.
