Calling all persuasive people?!?

So, my friend and I are 1 year apart. She's 13 and I'm 14. Her name is Mary. So Mary's mom works everyday as well as her dad, so they have to put her at her baby sitter. And I stay with my grandma at home. We could invite Mary over but my grandma is suffering from pneumonia and that can be very contagious. So Mary's mom suggested that I go to her place in the morning and me and Mary can stay home alone until 5 or so. I would go there at 9:00 or something. What's wrong with 2 friends staying in a house together? We know not to leave the house, but my mom is over protective and she won't let me go!!!! How to convince her? Also my mom and her mom are best friends so they already talked about the issue and my mom disagreed.

Thank you to everyone who answered in advance :)

Personally from experience some mothers do not like letting go to their children and accept that they are growing up and have their own lives to run compared to other mothers out there.

If you are a male (really sorry if you aren't!) then she maybe thinking about the whole Sex and Relationship thing between you and your friend.

Other than that she just may feel like you have the responsibility to be looking after your grandma with her being ill. She may also need emotional support and help around the home from you to stabilize her mind at home helping her both emotionally and physically and easing her mind, knowing if she takes ill (god forbid) that you are responsible enough to take care of everyone in the house.

Your mum might just want to see you grow up a little more. You should talk to her about it and see what she says about the whole situation, explain how you feel and go from there.

    Best of luck! X
