Merry Meet. There's simply no way to answer this in a text box. Wicca is a complex set of religions (Yes, it's a set of religions, not one religion, as there are literally hundreds of Wiccan Traditions that vary widely. Then you have a very recent type of Wicca (solitary eclectic) that is completely different than Traditional Wicca, which entails leaving out integral elements of Wicca, such as instruction by High Priests/Priestesses and initiation. That sort of Wicca almost doesn't resemble the other types even a little).
The first thing to understand is the definition of Wicca, which is hotly debated even amongst Wiccans. I recommend reading the following books and looking in-depth at the articles on the following websites for an overview of what Wicca actually is:
"Paganism: An Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions," by Higgenbotham
"Ethics and the Craft," by Coughlin
"The Circle, Cubed: Erecting the Temple in Four Dimensions," by MacMorgan-Douglas
"A Witch's Bible," by the Farrars (It's not like the bible; we have no dogma. It IS very informative about Alexandrian, coven-based Wicca)
After you've read those, I recommend looking at
Understand that it takes many, many years to develop a Wiccan practice, regardless of whether you are following a Traditional or solitary eclectic Wiccan path. This is not a religion for people who want to be spoon fed. I studied for over a decade to become a Wiccan High Priestess and that was the "fast track" in my Tradition. Solitaries must work extra hard because they must find and define their own path to the Gods, using the framework of the information available about Wicca prior to initiation. No book on Wicca tells information that is available after initiation (except for the Farrars' book, but even that only reveals a small amount of oath-bound material). I'm not trying to dissuade you, but if you're not really ready to work at this, it's not a good path to try to follow.
If you desire Traditional training in Wicca and are over 18, then you need to learn about where to find qualified High Priests/Priestesses who are teaching in the Tradition of your choice and then approach them for acceptance into their training programs. That is also a process. Not all "teachers" are qualified, not all groups are accepting new students, and not all groups are a good fit for all students. So the first thing to learn there is how to determine which type of Wicca speaks to you, then how to find a qualified group, how to talk with them to be invited in, and how to determine if the group is right for you. Which means going slowly, learning, talking to experienced adult Wiccans, reading Wiccan periodicals, going to Pagan festivals, etc.
Here are some good Pagan periodicals:
Circle Magazine
Witches and Pagans Magazine
SageWoman Magazine
Here are some good blogs/newsletters:
The Wild Hunt
Grannymoon's Morning Feast
Wicca.cnbeyer.com
Pagan festivals that I like include:
Winter Witch Camp
Free Spirit Gathering
Pagan Spirit Gathering
Paganicon
Sacred Harvest Festival
Search them and you'll find links.
Hope that helps a bit on your journey. Don't be intimidated. It's a very rewarding path to follow, even though it's a life-long learning process.
EDIT: Jennifer, you were not practicing Wicca. Not even close. You were a young Christian teen who felt like rebelling so you did what you were told by Christians was "Wicca," but is not, in fact, Wicca at all. So many Christians say "I was "into" Wicca...It was so scary and dangerous." Um, first of all you can't be "into" Wicca or any other religion. You practice it and live it. And Wicca is not spells, divination, necromancy, Ouija boards, séances, or trying to use "powers" to get what you want. None of that is Wicca.
Wicca is a highly ethical, responsible, loving religion with strong moral tenets that teach us responsibility, loving behavior, and self-analysis. Wicca celebrates the seasons of Life on this planet and teaches humility, kindness, and simple joy in living. There is NOTHING "dangerous" about celebrating and reveling in Life Itself using the framework of Wicca. ANYONE who says Wicca is dangerous is simply and utterly ignorant as to what Wicca is. Period.
Further, there are many books with "Wicca" in the title that are utter hogwash. Just because something is in a book, it isn't necessarily true. "Bad books" are a common subject in Wicca because there are so many of them.

If you don't know much about Wicca, how do you know it's what you want to become?
Surely you can't have very good, deep reasons-- they must be very shallow reasons if you don't know anything about it.
In a nutshell:
- Wicca is a religion.
So are you looking for religion? Because if you are just looking to do magic, you don't need to be Wiccan to do that-- anyone of any religion can do that.
- It's a Pagan, poltheistic fertility religion.
Do you believe in many Gods and Goddesses? Pagan Gods and Goddesses? Do you want to worship Pagan Gods and Goddesses?
- Wicca is an orthopraxic religion-- that means we aren't told what to believe, we seek through study and relationship with Gods in meditation and worship and through experience.
So are you looking for religion that involves a lot (A LOT) of study/reading? Meditation? Ceremony?
- Wiccans celebrate the cycles of the seasons, and how they reflect in the cycles of our lives.
Do the cycles of the moon or the agricultural cycles have any meaning to you? Do you hold such things as sacred? Are these things you wish to focus on in a religion?
- Wiccan tenets teach us things like taking personal responsibility for oneself, finding a healthy balance in life, not doing unnecessary harm, etc.
Are you looking for a religion that holds you accountable for your actions? That promotes you monitoring your own behavior and using good judgement and common sense when you choose how to act? A religion that does not give you a list of arbitrary rules, but one that expects you to take responsibility for your thoughts, words and deeds? Do you believe that there are natural consequences to your actions (not a punishing god, or heaven/hell)?
So you might want to think about these things and consider if Wicca is really what you are looking for.
If not, move on. It's not for everybody and Wiccans encourage you to follow your true beliefs, not to take our word for things.
If you are interested, try reading more at wicca.cnbeyer.com
Check out the recommended reading list and start working your way through it.
We usually recommend you read for a year or so before making any decisions about becoming Wiccan... not one book, but like 5 or 10. And give it a lot of thought.
Good luck on finding your path.
