Would it be possible that if we bread Chimps in a similar way that we bread wolves?

Could the Chimps over a long period of time eventually be bread to look totally different to how they look now?..

And could we also choose the preferred traits of their mannerisms, physicality's and capabilities that were more humanistic to domesticate the chimps in a way to make them seem more closer to humans than they already seem?..

And if we cant do this why cant we?..

And if we can do this why haven't we?..

At the end of the day we still have wolves and now we have poodles too and all the other breeds that do not resemble wolves..

So why have we not attempted this with apes, or is it that we cant do this or just that we think its inhumane to do this to apes but not inhumane to do it to wolves..

Update:

Edit: OK "bred" not "bread"I was feeling hungry when I wrote it but, it would be nice if you ignored the spelling mistakes..

    bred, not bread.

Breaded chimp is a delicacy in China.

Ok...then yes you can theoretically breed chimps for certain traits but great apes have proven to be less predictable because of their higher intelligence relative to other nonhuman animals. You also have to understand that apes live in societies, and there are ethical concerns in disrupting the status quo. Many people (myself included) feel that legal personhood status should be applied to all great apes so that experimentation, imprisonment, and disruption of their social order is seen as legally similar to committing these actions upon the human ape.

In terms of dogs...what do you mean by wolf? Dogs were bred for certain traits. The silver fox was also bred by the Russians to be docile. It's up for debate whether dogs were bred from wolves or another canine such as the jackal, dingo, or coyote. There have been DNA studies on this.

The Russians bred foxes back in the 1950s to see if they could domesticate them. They chose the foxes which were the friendliest out of each generation and eventually they had foxes that looked like dogs and behaved like dogs. Understand that foxes are not dogs. They cannot breed with dogs. Going by that experiment I would say yes you could have a breeding program with chimpanzees that would give a creature that was different. It would take a lot longer though.http://redhotrussia.com/domestic-foxes-novosibirsk...

Breaded chimps, then deep fried. Hmmm that's an idea for McDonalds, the McChimp special.

We can't make bread from chimps.

If we bred chimps, we could breed them to look different, yes.

We can, for example russia has bred foxes to become domestic

we haven't because that is stupid, would take many years, and would accomplish nothing

Wolves were helpful because they could help us gather and track food with us, and guard while we sleep

I don't want to throw bread at chimps or wolves...

    Wrong category.

Yeah, I'd say if we covered chimps in bread they'd look pretty different.

Probably because apes and such don't have the same bonding qualities with us that wolves promised.

If you wanted a real honest answer, in stead of looking for a way to disprove evolution, you would of asked this question in the biology section, not the religion & spirituality section
