Helpful major to become an AF pilot?

Math or engineering.

Glad you want to become a pilot and it's good you're planning ahead now. Your major in college doesn't matter too much as far a getting a pilot slot is concerned. The AF in general is looking for technical degrees, but I was a political science major. If you want to try to get an AFROTC scholarship then going for a technical major would certainly help you get selected. Some schools offer added perks (i.e free room and board) if you go to their school with an ROTC scholarship. Just something to think about.

If you're not going for a scholarship then just pick a major you're most interested in and feel you can excel in. Part of the formula used to determine who gets a pilot slot is your GPA. The higher your GPA in college the better chance you have of getting selected. I always found I got higher grades in classes that I was interested in so I'd recommend you major in whatever interests you the most.
