If Jesus doesn't exist, then why are our years defined as either AD or BC?

Checkmate, atheists. We wouldn't do such a thing if Jesus never existed.

There is overwhelming evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ, both in secular and biblical history. Perhaps the greatest evidence that Jesus did exist is the fact that literally thousands of Christians in the first century A.D., including the twelve apostles, were willing to give their lives as martyrs for Jesus Christ. People will die for what they believe to be true, but no one will die for what they know to be a lie.

Did you know that God , the Father was foretold that He must first come too , and restore all things ? Click me on for evidence of what I'm about to tell you .

So . , lets change the BC-AD thing to the "0" year , being from the present December 22 , 1993 to December 21 , 1994 ( when I had my best year at age 50 ) , And where it would be exactly 2000 years after Jesus' birth , and 6000 years from the beginning of Adam ( where God and Jesus said that now man has become like us , knowing good from evil ) , when some of the 100,000 year old "conscience only" people finally evolved a "collective conscience" as shown when Cain felt guilt for killing a "conscience-only" being , Able , who had no guilt as a hunter-gatherer who was able to enter a "Happy Hunting Ground" .

If you think about it, what are the chances that the entire Western calendar that is being used all over the world would come from a religious / false leader? No way.

the truth is that God has established a new covenant agreement with mankind through Christ, whereby God is making a way to receive everlasting life and be free from any kind of condemnation through Christ, who embodies this new covenant.

So you could say it has been 2013 years since God established a new agreement with mankind allowing also those who are not Jews to receive salvation through Christ. The only way the life of Christ could be the foundation of the new calendar is if God himself caused that to happen.

Considering that Jesus, if he existed, was actually born in around 5 or 6 BC, the terms are meaningless anyway

Then by similar reasoning: If the Norse gods don’t exist, then why are our days of the week named after them (Tiu’s day, Woden’s day, Thor’s day...)? We wouldn’t have Thursday if Thor never existed.~ Checkmate, Christians!

Of course, the modern calendar was the product of Pope Gregor. He formalized the calendar so he named the two periods before and after the mythological period of the birth of his favorite myth.

Because everyone used to believe in Jesus. And now, we are becoming smarter, and we cannot change it because many many historical events are recorded using AD and BC.

    - The person DID exist. His PROPER name appears in Roman records.

    - The term Anno Domini is Medieval Latin, translated as "In the year of the Lord." It does not mean After Death.
