Theists: Why do you want me to use faith to believe an extraordinary claim?

Isn't this the equivalence of attempting to use ignorance to indoctrinate me?

We have millions of near death experiences and even in the news recently there was a story about a guardian angel and their is enough evidence that supports religion. But of course you don't believe because atheists don't want to believe because all religion is bunk and that view cannot be changed in you. We could throw evidence at you all day, but at the end of the day its all a lie or a hoax to make you. So by your question, we want you to use faith because you won't believe any evidence we have.

I'm a theist and I don't really care if you believe or not. I think of you being like a deaf person looking at people on a dance floor, concluding that they're twitching around like idiots for no reason at all. I'm sorry you can't "hear the music", but I'm sure not going to give you any grief over it.

Maybe those who are trying to "indoctrinate" you are just your friends who want you to spend time them doing something they enjoy.

Now on one side of this argument is a basic misconception and that is you are both the plaintiff and the Judge. Meaning this, you want to play both the judge and the attorney for the opposing side.

By assuming both roles there is no way that a logical conclusion can be reached by yourself.

Now you might think you have a right to demand what you consider objective evidence, but your prejudice in the case removes any impartiality that would be needed for a rational evaluation of the evidence.

The definition of faith-"confidence or trust in a person or thing". Once you have seen, heard of, or experienced answered prayer, you can trust the claims of the prayer. The Lord cannot lie. When He says "just believe" He means "trust Me". Have faith in what He says. Q- Have you read the Bible? Have you asked God to reveal Himself to you? Do that and He will!
