Can you charge other brands of rechargeable batterys in a RadioShack battery charger?

i have a Radio Shack AA battery charger; my current batterys no longer hold a charge. i am thinking about buying new ones as my camera uses batterys very fast. Will my Radio Shack battery charger only charge Radio Shack nickle-metal hydride batterys? Or will other brands work in it?

Yes, but make certain that the cells you buy

can be safely charged at the current supplied by the charger.

It should not be more than 10% of the cell's mAh capacity.

For example, if a cell is rated for 1900 mAh,

the charge current should be 190 mA or less.

    >> I have a Radio Shack NiMH charger

that is "a bit too strong" for some cells.
