I'm in a part of the U.S. called Delaware; it's a small, rural state on the mid-Atlantic coast. I usually take my cats to the SPCA. They are required also to administer a rabies vaccine. Usually, the rabies is $13, and the spay is $65. If I took my cat to a veterinarian for the same procedure, it would be about double, I'd STILL need the rabies shot, and I'd also have to pay about $35 for the office visit itself.

I think the monetary exchange rate between the US and the UK is about $2.35 per Pound. So if your local RSPCA can sterilize the cat without requiring a lot of other procedures, vaccines, or office fees, you're probably talking about maybe 30 Pounds or so? Maybe 50? It does seem to me that such things cost a bit more over there.

Cat neutering must be applied as early as feasible with a purpose to avert undesirable litters. Most cats are sexually mature at six months, however some cats can grow to be pregnant as early as 5 months. Therefore, the ideal age to neuter your cat is between 4 and five months. Your veterinary surgeon might be capable to offer you additional recommendation on the first-rate time to neuter your cat. The RSPCA and most different animal charities try to ensure that that is finished via asking you to sign for this when you undertake a kitten. Most charities neuter cats over 6 months, earlier than they are adopted. How much it costs is a matter that you have to discuss with your veterinary health care professional. Rate is dependent upon the the scale of the animal and whether or not it is male or female. As a hard guide, within the UK cats can price from £30 - £50

It cost me less to get my younger cat spayed, she got spayed just before 6 months and it cost £45.00 but my older cat, she got spayed at around 8 months and it cost £55.00 at the same vets.

I think it varies for the age of the cat and is considerably less when the cat is pre 6 months old as there are less complications when the cat has not yet gone into season.

  • According to this web site written by a UK vet, the cost can vary between £35 - £100.

Vet costs in the UK vary by area, especially as there are 4 different countries concerned. Here in South East England my vet charges £90 to spay cats.
