How do I fix my Taylor weighing scale?

It has been sitting in my office for a week with a 2 pound book laying on top of it.

Now when I remove the book, it hand keeps on staying at 1Lbs & 9oz

I adjusted it to the 0oz but it just wont go there. The switch will not turn. Seems like it has already reached the maximum point of turning it.

I need help!

    You re torqued the spring and it will need replacing.
