anybody know about va benefits?

my dad is ww2 vet and is now in inhome hospice. has been over a month now and is getting hard to be there 24 hours a day as is required. no long care insurance and apparently medicade doesn't pay for him to be in a facility so im wondering if va provides any hospice care. so far I haven't been able to get a answer from the va

Update:

I guess some people don't read the question. I said I haven't received a answer form the va so apparently I have contacted them. I thought maybe someone might have first hand experience with hospice benefits thru the va

I am not sure but the best way to find out would be to go the nearest VA outpatient clinic with his DD214 or discharge papers and speak to a patient representative. You can call and set up an appointment and they will tell you what papers you need. Yes I'd try to call first and that may save you a trip.
