Male or female pet bunny?
I'm getting a pet rabbit soon and I'm having trouble deciding whether to get a male or a female. (It will be a lop by the way). What differences do the two have? Do males smell more than females? Anything else that might help me?

I agree with Lirpa1, male spray to mark their territory and it stinks. I had two male rabbits and they are extremely playful. But they make my place extremely stinky and difficult to maintain. Female rabbits are better if kept alone as they do not have marking characteristics.
Rabbit make wonderful pets and very easy to maintain. Try to maintain the natural diet and they stay long without getting sick, also make sure their hutch is cleaned twice a week properly with vinegar and dettol. You don’t have anything else to worry about.
Websites like rabbit.org, http://www.myhouserabbit.com/care.php..will give u great tips

I have 2 females and 1 male right now. I will tell you about their personalities in general.
Females-
Both of my females are quite affectionate when you stroke them in their cage. However, when they are in their run and I go to stroke them, they can be a little temperamental and moody. I have had both of these girls for nearly 7 years and they haven't always been like this. Its because they are getting older I think. They are grumpy old women xD
When one of my females was younger, she would lay down beside me when I sat next to her. She licks me a lot and is affectionate from the inside of her cage. Sometimes though, she can territorial and agressive because she is 'defending' her territory.
Male-
He is such a sweetie. He is not fixed and tends to hump everything he can find(including my arm and legs!). Its quite annoying, but he is the friendliest little thing ever. He is a lot like a dog. For example, he jumps up onto the sofa, chases my brother around the garden, comes when called and licks me. I have had him for about a year and a half (he is 2 years old) and he has NEVER shown any signs of agression.
He is very active and outgoing and needs a lot of time to burn off all his energy.
I know a retired rabbit breeder and her males were always more friendly than the females. The females were friendly, but the males were just more so.
Out of the two, I have found that males smell more than females, but its expected, especially when they are un-fixed.
Other things:
-Make sure your rabbit has hay available 24/7.
-Make sure your rabbit will be able to run around for atleast 4 hours per day (not kidding here).
-I have found that with rabbits housed together, when they reach a certain age (around 4-6 months) they start to fight. Both of my girls faught around that age and since then, they have been seperated. They are happy.
-Never house two male rabbits together.
-Your rabbit should be atleast 8 weeks old when you buy it.
-Make sure you have the biggest cage you can find. Most are too small for a single rabbit.
-They are easy to litter train.
-Most hate being picked up. Please keep that in mind. They are not cuddly pets!
Good luck!
My rabbits are Mini Lops. What breed of lop are you getting?

I have male rabbits, they spray to mark their territory if they are not castrated and it stinks! But males are normally more friendly
Rabbits are expensive. Just because they are small doesn't mean they are easy, they get sick easy, and can die suddenly
They need to be vaccinated and neutered for them to live long
Don't get male and female, and if you get 2 males make sure you pick ones that have been bought up together and look like they are close in the pet store otherwise they could fight
