Kayfabe wise -- What makes Randy Orton worthy of being the "face of the company"?

This whole storyline is about Daniel Bryan basically not being worthy of that title -- "face of the company". Apparently, they believe that Randy Orton is more deserving and feel he's better suited in that role. They say the company is in better hands with Orton being on top and WWE Champion.

Kayfabe wise, why is this? Isn't Orton the same dude who's been suspended twice for violating WWE's drug policy? Someone who's been suspended for something like that doesn't deserve the glory and praise he's getting from Triple H/Stephanie/Vince.

Again, this is strictly kayfabe. I'm just trying to understand why an unreliable, injury prone performer who's been known to have backstage issues, is all of a sudden "best for business". Wouldn't you want someone who you can count on, someone with no track record, someone who's durable to be leading your company?

And again, Triple H helping the dude who did all those despicable things to his wife and in-laws simply isn't believable. Nobody in their right mind would overlook the wrongs Orton did to Triple H's family/wife because it's "best for business". It's just not believable. And Vince got his head kicked in by Orton and (again kayfabe wise), suffered a serious injury. Orton literally punted Vince in the head, and now he's relying on him to lead his company. Vince knows FIRSTHAND just how unstable Orton is. He knows he that he can snap at any minute and lose it. Yet, again, he's putting all his eggs into the Orton-basket and giving him the keys to the kingdom. How does that make sense?

Let's put it this way, if YOU were looking for someone to run your business, to be the face of what you stood for, would YOU choose someone who punted you in the skull? Would YOU choose someone who's physically attacked a women (your daughter or wife I might add)? Would YOU choose someone who's been busted not once, but twice for substance abuse? More than likely, the person who did those dastardly things would probably be one of the last people you would choose and put your trust in.

No, I'm not 12 years old. No, I don't think wrestling is real. But some kayfabe consistency would be nice. My point is just, this whole storyline is flawed. The art of kayfabe is no where to be found.

What do you think? Do I have a point? Or am I just being a whiner?

Update:

Without kayfabe there is no wrestling!! How am I not supposed to care about it?

He's not technically "worthy" of being the corporate gem that the McMahons have been searching for. He's just better suited for the position than Daniel Bryan. Bryan does not fit the proper image of the "face of the company" -- he does not have the build, the look or the success of Orton. Orton is a much more credible superstar in regards to experience and popularity, and I suppose that's what the McMahons are looking for.

You're not actually looking at it from a "kayfabe perspective" when you mention Orton's two suspensions. WWE does not make matters like that known on-screen. Not only is it unnessecary, but I'm almost positive that it's illegal (don't quote me on that). When the television screens come on, Orton is just as clean as anyone else. The same goes for Daniel Bryan, even if he doesn't have any suspensions on his resume.

However, Triple H did make mention of his "past" with Randy Orton. I'm more than certain he was referring to his feud with Orton and The Legacy in 2008. Yes, Orton did punt Vince McMahon's skull into pieces. Yes, Orton did do despicable things to Stephanie McMahon. While I do agree that Triple H aligning with Orton is unrealistic, I do understand where Triple H is coming from. That was quite a few years back, to start, and from a business standpoint, it was a smart decision. Honestly, if my business were on the brink of destruction, and I needed someone strong and credible to represent my business, despite the bad blood we shared several years ago, yes, I would ask that man to do the job. That's just me. As Triple H said, personal things need to be set aside.

I don't think you're giving this rivalry enough credit, mainly because you're thinking too much into it. Daniel Bryan can't represent the company, Orton is the man to do so, and the McMahons are the ones behind it. Sounds like good material to me.

Well there is a line between real life and kayfabe. Plus when has WWE ever been consistent with storylines I mean look at Undertaker and Kane. I think you're overthinking, don't worry Daniel Bryan will win soon and make this all better.

Orton is a decent wrestler, and good at being a heel, and looks the part. I guess it made them overlook that one bad test and they have to fire him.
