Homemade pasta with herbs?

I want to add fresh herbs to fresh pasta- the absolutely fabulous pasta recipe I use is 4 whole eggs to 3 cups bread flour. There is no place in that recipe to substitute anything and the dough is very stiff.

I'm thinking about rolling out a sheet, laying herbs on 1/2 of it, folding and re-rolling. Pretty labor intensive.

Any better ideas?

Clara Mom added the herbs to the flour/egg mixture in the bowl! yeah! the dough is very dry, so you might add another egg? This is easier than the folding and rer-olling thing. I have thought about trying it, but haven't as I do the herbs in the stock pot for chicken and noodles! But I have an idea it would be excellent.

Does it get softer if you lay it out? Maybe put the herbs in with the flour and not later, thus doing it all at once.
