Is it worth staying up for the rest of the night?

I'm want to do this to get my sleeping schedule back to normal. Throughout most of the summer, I've been going to sleep from 3 AM - 6 AM and waking up at 10 AM - 2 PM. My school starts on Thursday and I need to get back to normal.

I want to try staying up all night so I'll feel tired on Wednesday night and go to sleep early. Then I'll get enough sleep in time for school.

But the problem is that I'm afraid to get hallucinations. I'm only 13 and I know it's unhealthy. Is it worth staying up to get my sleep schedule back? Or should I sleep now and force myself to sleep on Wednesday night no matter how hard it is? (I don't think I have insomnia.)

Please answer in an hour!

Update:

It's 2:38 AM.

    Yes, you're doing great.

Get back into your schedule now or it'll really hit you on your first day back at school which you obviously don't want.

Don't worry, you don't have insomnia, it's just your age. I used to be like it on weekends and school holidays. I'm lucky if I can stay awake past 10 now...

Just keep yourself moving. Maybe have some friends over for a sleepover and challenge them to an all nighter? You can have fun staying awake then. If you drink coffee then drink it for a boost (obviously don't make a habit of it)

Have some movies that you love on. Or put a new series of something on that will keep you hooked and wanting to stay awake. Do some cleaning or if you have a treadmill or something go on there for a while.

Cold showers can wake you up too :-)

Sleep now. I try that all the time. Stay up all night and all day the next day to try to get back on schedule. It never works, most of the time I pass out by the morning time. And on the day's that I actually do make it all night and morning, I am really weak all day and can not do much of anything. So go to sleep. Set your alarm to wake up by 6 or 7, so that when the next night rolls around, you may be tired from not getting much sleep and fall asleep faster. But do get some sleep. Sleep is important to make your body function correctly.

*sighs* And please keep in mind that most of the people telling you to stay awake are either young kids/teens like yourself that do not know any better, or immature older teens/young adults. People do need sleep to function. Why don't you look it up on google. That would probably get you better answers than some people here on yahoo.

You shouldn't worry about getting hallucinations unless you're on some kind of medication where you are supposed to sleep. People stay up for 24+ hours all the time, of course it's not great for you but if you're just doing it this once, you should be fine with nothing major to worry about. Most likely, you'll be really excited to get back to school so trying to force yourself to sleep after you've only been up for a few hours won't work out. You'll end up tossing and turning and not getting to sleep until the wee hours of the morning and then have to wake up and go to school on 2 or 3 hours of sleep. Talk abou ta bad first day. Stay up! You can do it ;)

Set your alarm for the time you need to wake-up for school.

Feel free to go to sleep now but you MUST get up when the alarm goes off.

Go outside into the daylight as soon as possible after your alarm goes off.

Early exposure to daylight helps to reset your body clock.

Do not allow yourself to go back to bed/sleep until after your evening meal.

You should not get hallucinations, will just feel bad.

you will not get hallucinations. don't worry about it. but deciding whether you should stay up and "push through to the next day", or force yourself to go to sleep early, is something that depends on YOUR feelings, which you can decide better than anyone. do what's best for you.

I did that last year. Stay up all night and then when you go to bed tomorrow make sure you don't have any distractions (phone, ipad, ipod, tv) then you should sleep also set an alarm to wake you up early enough and make sure your alarm is the loudest thing you can get to wake you up.
