How to wake child up?

I'm babysitting my 18 month niece today, and this morning after breakfast she had a nasty spill down the basement stairs. Somehow she opened the door and fell down about 12 concrete steps. I wasn't around when she fell, but I came as soon as I heard the noise and crying. She cried fairly hard for about 5 minutes and then became tired so I let her go to sleep.

It is now mid afternoon, and she has slept through lunch and my countless efforts to wake her up. She is usually a heavy sleeper but this time just she must be really exhausted.

Any tips on how to wake her up?

On the off chance this isn't a troll...

You need to call her mother NOW and have her taken to the ER. NOW. A fall followed by extreme drowsiness is a sign of a concussion, and especially on an 18 month old, that needs to be evaluated NOW.

I say Troll and will still give a good answer.

YOUR lazy azz will be held accountable if anything happens to that child, so unless you wanna be violated in jail, daily, I suggest you call an ambulance, The child is in real trouble.

In case you're not a troll (in which case you should never babysit another child until you learn to identify emergencies and act accordingly): call the mother while you grab your keys and tell her to meet you at the ER. You bring the little girl, obviously.

Don't listen to that person about not letting them sleep after banging a head. After all we heal fastest when sleeping.

Phone mum tell her to meet you at A&E she might have bleeding or be severely concussed. Don't wake her. Just get her the hospital. ASAP.

  • Is this a joke? I really, really hope so. You need to contact her parents because she needs to see a doctor.

I really hope that child did not hit her head.... any time somebody falls and hits their head YOU DO NOT LET THEM GO TO SLEEP.

Tell her the boogie man has come to haunt her! She will wake up quicker than an alarm clock.
