Should I get my central air conditioner serviced now, or wait until next spring?

If you are regularly checking and replacing air filter, and most importantly if it is working then there is no reason to call HVAC tech for maintenance, unless you know someone you can fully trust.

You can wait till fall. if you have a window type then i believe you can do it yourself, all you need is nice water supply, brush, detergent and poly-bags to wrap electrical parts.

or for time being till fall comes keep the intake filter clean and then get it services.

You might get some video on youtube to service a/c its easy thing.

It may be cheaper now because the service folks won't have much business. Just ensure you Lways protect it from the elements through the winter.
