I'm confused, can someone please explain what this means.?

Can anyone please explain to me what it means. I'm trying to get on to a site, it says email, which I presume would be mine, after I entered mine it came back and said, 'your email address must be in the format name@domain.com. I'm a 70 year old lady and have little experience with computers. Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Basically it's saying put your name then press the shift button and press the key with the @. Then whatever website your on ie: hotmail, yahoo etc. Put that next and then but .com, or whatever country code your in. For example if your in the uk put .co.uk.

My name is Niamh but because there are other niamhs on hotmail I have to put a number I was given when I made my adress after my name also.

    So mine would be

    niamh122@hotmail.co.uk

That's not my real email but hope this helped :) And don't worry my nan is the same:)

It says the format with which you need to send the email. eg. mary123 @ yahoo.com

My guess, you missed the dot between yahoo and com.

I am not sure what exactly went wrong, however you can double check before sending again. Sorry I cannot help you more.

It means first put in you user name then @ then the website with which you have an account

eg. If my username is "Mary1911" and I have an account with yahoo.com then you need to enter:

    "Mary1911@yahoo.com"

What is your email? Your username is usually like what you said. For example 'sarahsmith@yahoo.com'
