  • Is This Legal Or Not.?

My daughter gave her CV in to a rather small, unsavory, job agency yesterday and was told to go back today for an interview. The interview turned out to be more like an interrogation. It was a terrible, unhelpful, and degrading experience. My daughter came home in tears. The woman in question said there was nothing she could for her. For that reason my daughter asked for her CV back and the woman said she would not do that. When my daughter said, but it s private and confidential information for me only, the woman still refused to give it back but in an angry tone said it would be shredded. I am not happy about this at all as this information could be sold on to immigrants who she apparently does a lot of work for. Was it legal for her to keep this CV? Any advice will be so welcome. We have just seen that this woman has nothing but bad reviews. Thanks for your help.

  • Hand luggage - plastic bags?

    Hi there,

It's so long since I've flown anywhere so rules have changed and are new to me. My question is, are you given airline plastic bags for putting certain items in, or do you have to provide your own. I won't be taking any liquids but will be taking stuff like makeup. What kind of thing must I put in the plastic bag, toothpaste, mascara lipstick or what. Millions of people fly each year but I cannot seem to get a proper answer to this question from anyone.

    Thanks in advance..

From Ashford, I want to go to Paris this Friday simply for the day only, leave between 7am and 9am then make the return journey back to Ashford International in time to get that last train [10:35pm] back to hastings. It says days trips are £69:00 but I've tried to book online but it keeps coming up wityh the high cost of anything from £290:00 to over £300:00... Thst isn't 69:00 per ticket. Do you know how I can book and pay simply for two day return tickets for £69:00 each, which is the price advertised. Thanks for your help.

  • Question for first time visit to New York?

Thinking of going to New York later in the year. I know nothing about the place only that it interests me but I don't know what to see or where of interest to visit. It will be hotel only, breakfast and other meals out with just a seven day visit and I'm not sure how much money to take or will need either. Bit of a silly question I know but I really need to know something however small before setting off. For a sprightly seventy year old lady, your advice would be of great value to me.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Which best quality printer paper?

Hi there, I have a new HP Deskjet 2510. The paper I have seems too thin and takes more than one sheet through when printing, although this is not a problem. I want a thicker paper but not sure what weight it would be. It doesn't say but I assume the paper I have is 80grms. Can anyone tell me what weight I should look for, not photo paper but more of a document type thickness. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks,

  • Question about printers.?

My HP Photosmart C4280 has stopped working because of a water damage. A new one would set me back £179:00 which is too much for what I want. I know nothing about these things really other that I just want it to print, copy and perhaps scan but that's not important. I want a printer that's reasonably cheap, simple to install, aligns itself and only needs two cartridges, black and tricolour. The one before my last I could not get to print straight. I'm a bit old in the tooth for this kind of thing so any help from someone who knows and can point me in the right direction, would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What happens to executed wills?

Will it, a will still be available for me to see after 37 odd years, If I need to re-check on a late step fathers wishes. Something strange within that will has bothered me for years, something I never questioned then but wish to now. I was with my step father when he made the will out, leaving everything to me all those years ago. Yet after his death the solicitor said that my step father had got it all wrong in the will and that I was left nothing. I am curious and would like to verify a point in it for my own piece of mind. Are wills kept with the lawyer or the family. If not is it available at public records office?

Thanks, Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Finding out that you were never refereed on to specialist after all.?

Knee trouble for long time, had Xrays and saw my doctor who was then supposed to refer me on the the specialist. Several months went by so I asked what was taking so long. Secretary huffed and said she would call me when she found out, which she never did. Couple of months later I went back yet again. This time she seemed flustered and said, that the letter had got 'stuck on the hard drive' of all things, but had found it and had sent it off to the hospital. Again a couple of months later I got fed up with waiting and checked the hospital myself. They have no record of any letter from my GP on their system. She showed me my records on her computer and she was right, nothing there at all, if there were I would be on the system and a letter would have gone out to me automatically if I had been, regardless of the wait to see the specialist. Since waiting so long the pain in my knees has become almost unbearable and mobility has become worse. I feel really let down and don't like that this practice don't take my problem seriously not to mention that they have blatantly lied to me on two separate occasions now. Should I make a formal complaint?

  • How do I find a missing person?

My friend [over 60] goes to India a lot, eventually she found and got engaged to a man. She along with him, who has a shop selling all kinds of nick-knacks, was setting up a school there, cant remember exactly where about though. Think this was being financed by her too. Well' it'll be three years this September she was going back out to do this. I haven't heard from her since. We are very close and have in the past kept in touch every week, now I can't find her at all. She doesn't answer her phone or mobile. I can't find any of her family. She is a wealthy woman which makes me fear for her safety. The local police near her wouldn't even go and bang on her door, saying she's an older woman so can come and go as she pleases. I'm really worried but don't know how to go about trying to find her. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What to do, where to go when you're lonely?

At sixty eight years old I never thought I would ask this question. But loneliness, boredom seems to creep up on you, it sets in and takes over. I'm frightened of dating sites because fear that I may meet a creep or some man looking for money. I have an eighteen year old daughter. I'm comfortable but not rolling in cash. What is the answer for proper friendship.?

  • Need help, how do I get information about National Express bus travel?

I want to get from Hastings in East Sussex to Horley Surrey by National express bus. Thought the bus would be a change from rail travel. Is there a National Express office in Hastings to get information or perhaps they don't go there, do they??

I cannot seem to get any information from their site unless I want to travel elsewhere in UK, any advice would be very helpful as need to go during Easter break.

    Thank you.
