Juicing: Can I drink ordinary garden grass that is juiced or will it make me sick?

I know I cannot eat it whole because my digestion system will not tolerate it.

    Hi Sourcerers Mistress,

Run the idea past a Dietitian thank you.

If it's the same as when I was a kid (But it might not be?)

    I used to eat it.

It might also have toxic fertiliser on it, so I wouldn't touch it.

It was like green tubes a couple of millimetres 1/8th inch in diameter.

    Great Question.

    Best Wishes.

Hi all grass varieties are edible. But common sense is to avoid grass that has any potential of being chemically treated.

Pick grass growing in secluded places, like underneath a bush in a forest or on your property that you know to be safe.

With all the people who walk on the grass, and all the dogs, skunks, groundhogs, mold spores and acid rain that comes into contact with it, why would you even think of trying to eat it? You can't actually be sure that anything like grass would be healthier or safer. Stick to grass you grow yourself in a pot at home--that isn't subject to these things--or stick to wheat grass.

The biggest problem with lawn grass is the chemicals that are put on it. Technically, you can eat, just not digest it well, even if it's juiced. Dandalions on the other hand are better.

I think the grass that they juice is wheat grass, not the stuff you grow in your lawn. but i suppose you could convert your lawn to wheat (that might be cool).

But you can grow wheat grass at home. They have kits. Google it.

Ignoring any possible chemicals that might have been put on it, you might as well skip it as you won't gain any benefit from it - our stomachs aren't built to digest it.

However if you get what's left over after it passes through a cow you can digest that (the chemistry changes).
