Antidote for pups who eat Everything!?

My 2 six month old pups (different breeds) romp in the yard daily, and always find something weird to gnaw on such as leaves, branches, tree limbs, flowers, sometimes even random things like bottle caps or pieces of plastic. I have no idea where they find it since I'm strict about the yard upkeep, but They're scavangers. They've recently adopted the sport of digging (to China I think). My concern is that they'll find something poisonous, but I heard hydrogen peroxide could be dispensd should they ever get poisoned. Is that true? If you can help w/the other issues as well, that would be gr8 but mostly I need to build some kind of safety box for them. Help!

There's a brand of dog toys called Kong and they have a variety of practically indestructible chew toys. I would definitely check it out- worked great for my pit bull pup that ate everything (apparently the more expensive, the tastier). Also, a turkey vaster of peroxide down a dogs throat will usually cause him/her to vomit but that's not a way to treat poisoning. Only if they gorged on their dog food stash (another pit pup trick I learned) or something. Check out Kong toys! GL!!

Well, you should be closely watching puppies anyways because they're new to this world. Most dogs have enough instinct to not ingest any poisonous plants such as my dogs but some just swallow everything they can lay their eyes on. But I believe they are chewing on everything because they're teething. Try giving them plenty of other chew toys made especially for teething puppies and maybe they wont go looking for chewable junk. There is also a spray that makes dogs/pups stop chewing because there is some sort of ingredient that are repulsive for dogs. Before buying that I would try training her into not letting her chew foreign objects. Wait for the dog to start chewing and then right when she starts have a very stern voice and say "no" along with a negative reinforcement such as making a loud noise near her (you could slap your hands on the ground or use pennies inside a can-works like a charm!) Soon enough, this puppy will realize that every time she starts chewing objects there will be a negative outcome. However, there is also a possibility that she will think a negative outcome will happen when only chewing lets say...perhaps a bottle cap. The key is doing it with whatever she begins to chew on and be CONSISTENT!! Also, when she begins to chew toys that you bought, give her a positive reward such as giving her praise (using a high-pitched voice), petting her or giving her a treat. This also must happen soon after she begins to chew the dog toy. This will let your pup know that whenever she chews dog toys, she gets a positive outcome. I used this technique to crate train my dog and now whenever I grab m purse, put on a jacket etc. she walks inside the cage herself and waits for me to close the door. It's pretty awesome. Best of luck.

Puppies (and many adult dogs) eat weird stuff... that's just how they roll.

as far as chewing stuff up in the house, the best thing you can do is prevent it. chewing on stuff is reinforcing by its self. find object, chew, enjoy, do it again. etc.

If you're worried about your dog being poisoned, you should prob take it to the vet. however, if you're not sure and you just want to be safe, get some charcoal capsules from the local health store and have the dog swallow it. it will absorb many toxins but it's no solution for severe poisoning.

Supervision. If you can't trust them outside on their own, go out there and SUPERVISE them.
