looking for a video player for android for anime?

so ive been trying to get anime to work on my mobile for awhile now but its annoying to have to convert everything i want to watch on my commute so ive been trying to find a player app that would work for me without having to go through the extra step of converting.

so far every app ive tried has given me a blackscreen with audio (including the much venerated but disappointing mxplayer) except 2: BS player and dice, BS player for whatever reason isnt playing softsubs properly and i cant seem to find anything in its preferences to fix that. as for dice, im seeing an unacceptable amount of video lag.
