Doesn't adding an obscene amount of media coverage to "stars" obscene acts encourage those acts?
If Miley were to find appearances cancelled rather than all the publicity given wouldn't she quickly modify her behavior? Seems to me our culture rewards bad behaviors then we wonder why we have bad behavior..or is that an incorrect view?

The performance was nothing but a paid promotion by MTV for next year's VMAs. It paid off, too. I mean, how much do you think MTV would have to pay for all the air-time and internet buzz that's been generated by this?
And yes, the news outlets that feature news casters with their disapproving glares that then go on to show parts of the performance are just as guilty and hypocritical as MTV.

It absolutely encourages those acts! Most of our "stars" today have become famous because of bad behavior and inappropriate situations.

I get a kick out of all the news shows saying how bad it is and then showing it. Yesterday the local show wouldn't show it, today they are because they were being scooped by other local shows. Sleaze is news, news is sleaze.
