team canada goaltenders really?
I was watching the news last night and it seems like Loungo, Price adn crawford are the three leading goaltenders for team canada.
Really? are these the best of the best Canada has to offer? Except for Crawford (I think he deserves to be there) but the other two? Loungo has been #1 and # 2 for years in Vancouver and was never able to win anything and Price (I'm a habs fan) can't seem to be constant. How can those two be the leading contenders?
Luongo might of won all those medals in the past. However the last gold medal was not because of his golatending. He was more than ordinary as was his goal tending with Vancouver. He is not in the top 5 in my book.

Canada DOES NOT have a goalie weakness its simply the media trying to stir up a story, only in Canada would we throw our own goalies under the bus, if Crawford was American or Czech or whatever no doubt about it he would be getting some serious looks to be their starter after his amazing stats in the playoffs this year, 1.84 gaa, .932 sv% and hoisting the cup, if he was any other nationality he would be a near lock to be a starter or on the team at the least, Crawford had the best overall numbers of all goalies this playoffs yet people are conveniently forgetting his 51 save performance in triple overtime against the Bruins or his ability to play some really great games to help his team come back from down 1-3 against the Red Wings.
Furthermore Luongo carried his team to the stanley cup final 2 years ago and also won us an olympic gold, he's played in big games and can get the job done, if you compare Luongo's sv% average to Lundqvist over the past 5 years they are nearly identical, therefore I am not buying this goalie weakness load of bull, Price, Ward, Fleury are also great goalies who become even better behind Team Canada, dark horses are Reimer and Holtby. Look at the team in front of any one of these guys and tell me it won't be hard to get pucks behind anyone of those goalies.

Really now? Loungo's Olympic Gold metal from last Olympics is nothing? Add in 2 gold and a silver World Championships, World Cup Gold, and a World Junior Silver. That's 4 gold, 2 silver and 6 times experience to the big final game.
I have similar faith in Price. He has been there for Team Canada when needed and since a young age.
You can look to Crawford to be in net for the first game if it is against like Germany or Belarus, but other than that look for him to be the number 3 guy.

I'm not sure who you think is getting snubbed out? And majority of the countries in the tourney would love to have that amount of talent in net
Fluery? He's seeing a psychiatrist for playing so awful and makes Luongo seem like a brick wall
Its clear they've moved away from Marty
I agree Price isn't reliable but he does have world class talent
Crawford obviously is the hot option but as you can see from the previous tenders a hot streak last year does not make for this season
My pick would be Smith in the pipes for Canada
Giggy, Biron, Theodore, Mason, Riemer, really no competition for the guys above

If you hadn't noticed there is a lack of good quality Canadian goalies It happens so the three are probably the best of a poor group. Remember this is only a development camp so if another player starts to show well in the regular season they can be invited to the pre game camp.
