Ball Python Problem........?

Hey everyone, its been a while since I've been around here for those who remember me. Anyways, I'll get to the point, my male ball is mid shed cycle is not flicking his tongue like normal. He is flicking it but it only comes out about half way and sometimes gets stuck. I know these to be symptoms of IBD but there were no mites present and he is not currently showimg other symptoms. My two thoughts are possibly mouth rot or its simply a side effect to his shedding. In the past he has had mouth rot and RO but both were treated by a professional, however if this be mouth rot again are there any home remedies? Please give your knowledge as to what this might be thank you. Please excuse typos as this is from a mobile device.

From what I understand, mouth rot shows very apparent visual signs. If you can't see anything from the outside you might want to try to get his mouth open and check the inside of his mouth. Sorry I can't be of further help but I've not heard of anything like that before.

If you keep having reoccurring issues something is wrong with your husbandry or set-up. 
What are your temperatures? Humidity? Substrate? Are you misting the tank (hint---you shouldn't be). 

There are no effective, guaranteed home remedies for either mouth rot or respiratory infections--these need to be dealt with by a professional especially if the snake cannot move its tongue as it normally should. 
IBD would present other signs and kills quickly. 

Take him to a vet. 
In the meantime, up your temperatures a little bit and keep him clean and dry.
