Is there a way to rent a car if you're not 25?
My wife and I are going to Chicago in December to visit a friend, but neither of us will be 25 yet then. Is there a way you can rent a car if you're under 25, or do we just have to manage to get around without one?

Yes, you can... You will just be charged an extra fee for being under 25. The car rental agency sees drivers under 25 as an additional risk.
Hertz calls this extra charge an "Age Differential Charge". They allow rentals to people down to 20 years of age, with this additional fee.

Most if not all big car rental companies will rent to people over the age
of 21. However, if you are between 21-24 they will charge about
$15-$25 extra per day. And I think not all cars like SUV. In New York
you can rent at 18 years at most car rental companies.

It should be no problem as long as you are over 21. Most any car rental place will rent to you. If you are between 21 and 25 then they just charge and extra fee. They do that because it costs them more in insurance when they rent to someone under 25.

Yes. Most agencies now a days will allow you to rent a car even if you are not 25. They would most likely just charge you extra.

12th Man, go to a rental agent like Budget, Hertz or Avis where you are and pre-book, you will know then what your going to be up for.
