What does an inability to accept that one could be wrong denote?

what are your thoughts on fallaciously proven arguments?

Update:

I suppose that is the rub Anthony. Even if something is utterly and blindly inaccurate, that does not prevent it from being widely accepted. Bullsh¡t may not make the world go around, but some how it appeases the boredom of those with no concern for truth.

Maybe a very strong intuition that we are right.

At it's root, it denotes FEAR. Fear of failure, fear of ridicule, fear of embarrassment, fear of confrontation, fear of loss, fear that you'll need to expend more effort, fear that other things you believe may also be wrong, fear that your house of cards may collapse, fear of being unhappy, etc., ad-infinitum. Fallacious arguments are essentially excuses we make in an attempt to avoid facing something we fear. sometimes the fear is great and sometimes it is just a minor dislike, but that's what it comes down to. Fear and unhappiness.

Is it truly proven or just widely accepted?

Childish, immature, naive. Probably coddled earlier in life
