How badly will Chevy's new Corvette dominante Dodge's Viper?

As you are a corvette fan, why are they starting to look like a viper?

Dominate in performance? If you count the ZR-1 then the Vette will definitely win. Dominate in sales? Yep Corvette will massacre it.

The better question is though, is it fair to compare these two cars? The Corvette has a HUGE advantage in it's legacy. People buy a Corvette and they are buying a piece of U.S. history. It's a car that everyone will see and appreciate what it stands for. They are accessible for almost any driver (it has the unfortunate tag of "midlife chrisis car" in many people's eyes), but this is why it's so HUGELY successful for a supercar. If you want a shiny new Corvette then you can probably get one at some point if you save up long enough. By comparison though, most people can't drop the $100k plus price tag of a Viper or other supercar no matter how aggressively they save for it.

They each have their own niche. The Corvette is the ultimate "everyman" sports car. It is affordable and has absurd performance for the dollar (even discarding the price it makes cars that cost exponentially more look silly with it's performance numbers alone)

The Viper on the other hand is more exotic. By exotic I mean rare to see. When you see a Viper you make a double-take to register what you just saw. It has a similar level of rarity as much more expensive cars, while still having a price tag that is less than most people's houses.

Which would I buy? A Corvette no contest. They have a bigger mod community, tons of easy-to-find bolt-ons, and if you need it worked on there is going to be a place you can get it done nearby no matter where you are. However, I am glad that the U.S. still has another beastly supercar to show off. The Viper isn't for everyone, but it's still a monster that most car nerds would be pretty excited to have shove them firmly into the back-rest.

And it sings the blue's to even most exotic's for not even half the price, And the Italians, And Brits do NOT like that at all not one bit, Not mildly or remotely.
