how many different nations/factions areas made up the....?

holy roman empire (HRE) and were ruled separately e.g. Bavaria, Hanover, Prussia, Austria etc.

and could you give the names of these factions

    Literally thousands - there were over 2000 Imperial Free Cities alone in the Holy Roman Emperor.

    So,far,far too many to list here.

    Indeed a huge number once you start counting free cities. And the boundaries of the HRE changed from time to time, over the years and centuries. Although the HRE did have defined boundaries (changeable, as noted) the HRE was more of a concept than a 'nation' or 'empire'.
