When did Al Qaeda publicly become the "good guys"?

Since the CIA Corporation created Al Qaeda in 1978 to give the Soviet Union fits in Afghanistan, our Al Qaeda forces were publicly held up as the bad guys and our "enemy". to justify war and the construction of a police state that would shock Orson Wells.

At some point, the occupied central government started transitioning CIA Corporation's Al Qaeda into the "good guys". When did that marketing image campaign begin and how successful has Madison Avenue been in convincing the American people that the former bad guys are now the good guys and our friends. Why did the occupied central government decide to re-educate us on how to feel for our Al Qaeda partners?

Al Qaeda is not real, its a figment of American Media as a generalization for our enemies. However, it implies that these various organizations cooperate with each other and they don't...

If by "Al Qaeda" you mean "Taliban" or more accurately, "Mujahideen" they have always been the good guys. They just want peace in their country and economic freedoms - America has a bad track record for providing either to foreign powers... hence the tension.

You have already been re-educated, lol. The Taliban is different from Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, and Hamas... The only conflict arising with your 're-education' is that you were taught that the Taliban were the enemy - when in actuality they are freedom fighters. Not saying I want them to win, I rather enjoy my quality of life - but I don't have my head in the clouds either.

Hey, I am going to create another irrational radical muslim group with the support of the CIA. We can call it the Al-Anti American Bastards and in a few years it will become our allies, then our enemies, then our allies again. Get the picture? I want to go back to the CIA that we had when we put in the Shah of Iran in the 1950's and toppled the Berlin Wall under Reagan.

When a country is illegally invaded and children become collateral damage the high moral we stand on starts to crumble.

Not that I have ever thought they were the good guys but then I wasn't gullible enough to think the IRA were the good guys either.

The CIA did not create al Qaeda - that is essentially a really stupid falsehood, and shows a serious lack of knowledge about our actions in Afghanistan.

    Will the ignorance ever end?
