Why is this section a competition to see who is right and who is wrong?

Seems to me that your religious beliefs should be your own personal relationship with god ( or not if you dont believe... thats a belief system too).

Isnt it time we spent less time trying to convince everyone who doesnt believe the same as us, and more time concentrating on our own actions within our beliefs. At the end of the day not even one of us really knows the "truth". There is so much humans dont know, all we can do is find what works best for each of us and what makes the best sense to each of us. To say we DO know the truth is the epitome of not only arrogance, but stupidity.

Update:

@BEYOND, good for you. That is your personal experience and it works for you... hey and it might even work for me ( seeings as i havent stated what my own beliefs are), however my point is that tomorrow something could happen to change those beliefs... who knows you may have another life changing experience? I accept your right to your own beliefs without belittling them and i would ask the same courtesy in return.

"To say we DO know the truth is the epitome of not only arrogance, but stupidity."

Just because it is not in your experience to have met someone... say Bill Gates... doesn't mean you can state you cannot know Bill Gates is there.

There might be some who would argue that Bill Gates as an existing human is nothing more than a belief in the gullible mind, and that Microsoft is actually the product of a think tank of eggheads who wanted to have a figurehead, and invented Bill Gates as that person.

If it was in your experience to have actually met Bill Gates, you could not deny that Bill Gates is a real person, and that you have met him. You "know" he is real.

Just because it is not in your experience to have met God, doesn't give any weight to the argument that you cannot know God.

Once you meet Him, you have no doubts. The hard part is trying to tell others you have and seeing if they will believe it.... despite the going trend to deny Him based on the evidence that He is nothing more than a figment of our imagination, and that His existence doesn't match up with the experience of those who prefer to believe science has proven a different view.

It isn't. Truth is truth; and untruth is untruth; whatever anyone says.

Uh, people's belief or non-belief ARE their personal thing. That some people want to ask or answer questions about it doesn't change that.

Lack of belief ISN'T a system, really. But whatev.

If YOU don't want to ask or answer questions about religion, then there's no reason for you to come to this category of this site. No one is forcing you.

No one is denying anyone their right to whatever they think. Discussion isn't force.

All that said, one never knows whether one's words will cause someone to rethink their position. So,it may be that, at the time, my arguments have no affect, but later some believer may realize they don't have an answer, and that may trigger doubt and rethinking.

It's not really a competition, more like an exhibition.

Because we are all wrong but we just don't know it.
