First - remember that Syria is a pawn in a much larger game. Iran and the Mullahs are the ones who hold Assad's leash, and it was Iran that decided that chemical weapons would be used.

The trap was set almost a year ago, when, for no apparent reason, Syrian military units began moving stockpiles of chemical weapons out of their permanent storage areas. Obama walked into the snare, opening his alligator mouth and declaring a "red line in the sand" that "must not be crossed"

Then, when a small chemical weapons attack was made about three months ago, he waffled, waiting for "concrete evidence" that never came. His credibility dropped to new lows.

Then, in goes a major attack. Obama must respond. The threats are made, plans are laid

And in the Security Council chambers, where Great Britain is ready to enter a resolution to "protect the Syrian civilians from these heinous attacks by WMD", a grenade lands in the punchbowl

Russia and China TOGETHER show their support for Iran by both of them walking out on the Security Council

They were saying Iran is not going this alone. They are saying they are sharing the bunker with Iran.

So all of a sudden we have the Mullahs, with their dreams of bringing back the old Muslim empire and crushing those Sunni dogs once and for all.

We have Putin, who wants to be the reincarnation of Uncle Joe, and return Russia to the power and prestige the USSR had back when the world trembled at the sound of Russian tank treads.

We have the Chinese Communist Party. who are ready to retake the center stage and throw off the last 150 years of being a crumbled empire living on past glory.

The three together can dominate half the globe and 3/4s of the world's population. They can control 70% of the worlds oil

It will make Alexander's empire, or the Roman Empire, or the British Empire, pale by comparison

And Obama and his picked team of "Foreign Policy Experts" never saw it coming

The arrival of a new gunfighter in town has scattered and shaken the western powers.

Like the towns people of the old west, they peer from behind their doors, waiting to see what happens

Obama is suddenly alone in the middle of the street, and it 5 minutes to noon

All we can do is hope he is up to it

Assad knew that a a large attack was get staged. The area was full of rebels. He had the gas there. Heused it. If the rebels had carried out that attack, they may have gotten rid of Assad. Basher Assad's father, Hafez, massacred most of a city, Hama, in 1982:

under similar circumstances-fighting the Muslim Brotherhood.

The nations that flaunt international treaties against biological and chemical weapons feel stronger: Russia, North Korea, Iran, Syria and China. It increases the sense of lawlessness in the world. The UN is shown to be useless. Remember, the League of Nations was started after World War One, largely to stem the use of chemical weapons. Hitler didn't use the nerve gas that the Nazi's had developed. The UN used to help prevent use of particularly horrible weapons. No more. The US and NATO were the teeth of the UN.

The answer to your question is simple.

The use of chemical weapons is to strike

fear into your opposition. Also a much

cheaper way to kill your enemy.
