BUYING TIPS FOR PURCHASING A CAR?

Any experts out there on purchasing a car in cash? Haggling the price down about $500.00?

How to's? How not to's? Does appearance matter?

Saved up enough money again to buy a cash car.

Details:

Ford Freestyle

Leather

130,000 miles on it.

It's in my price range, car has been hit from behind (although does not say in car fax). But the rear has a replaced hitch (different color then the car).

Leather isn't in great condition.

mainly all cosmetic - but I would still want to give it a paint job.

- So I want to lower the price, and haggle. I'm a great seller, not the best buyer...

Thanks all!

Daniel forgets that dealers and salespeople see that junk every day. Don't waste their time.

A pair of new skins for front seats would just about cost you $500. If they don't bite there, it isn't meant to be.

What year is the car? A car could look like a million dollars but have many internal problems. What matters first is the inside of the car. Go to a trustworthy mechanic and have him take a look at it and make sure its not going to break down after a couple of days. But, for $500 dollars there might be a couple of problems with the car.

Alright what you want is to go in not attached to your cat at all just stroll in wait for one of them to ask if you need help and then say no and walk away come back another day be seen by the same guy make sure he sells the cars to and once he asks if you need help get a test drive in the car and don't act impressesed and say ir might get the job done I suppose and lowball ( say it sticker says 5 say like 3 then go up very slowly and they will work until they can make a deal and if they say no I can't do that then walk away look like a pro hope this helped
