It was simply the better picture of the four. Outstanding production values, sterling entertainment, crafted to perfection.

"Chicago", in my opinion, is one of the ten best films of the 21st Century...while I would not list either "The Pianist" or "Gangs of New York" on the Top Ten list (I would entertain the notion of Lord of the Rings in a top ten if you were to consider the entire triology - but for me as an individual, I found LOTR boring).

My call on the ten best films beginning in the year 2000:

    1. Gladiator

    2. Almost Famous

    3. The Wrestler

    4. Chicago

    5. Argo

    6. Lincoln

    7. Across the Universe

    8. The Social Network

    9. Precious

    10. Slumdog Millionaire

Simply put...it was superior to the others.

A rousing and energetic adaptation of the Broadway musical, Chicago succeeds on the level pure spectacle, but provides a surprising level of depth and humor as well -- considering that none of the three leads is a pro singer or dancer, Chicago is surprisingly a brassy, enjoyable movie musical, with at least a couple of risque production numbers.

I consider CHICAGO the sixth greatest movie of the 21st century...on the other hand, the three you listed wouldn't even make my top 30 list.

Chicago is a stunning show stopper, a seamless integration of toe-tapping tunes, riveting routines in the wicked and wonderful seedy side of the swing city.

I thought Chicago was a boring musical. The Pianist was

better. Adrian Brody won an Oscar for Best Actor in that

movie. That's when he almost tore presenter Halle Berry's

top off at the Oscars, he got so excited by winning his Oscar.

Yes, it had a little "razzle dazzle" and " a little bit of sunshine".
