I watched as a grey lace curtain swept across the half frozen lake as if God were giving an object lesson on the trinity. Water in three states of existence in one place; liquid, ice and vapor. Streaks of brilliant morning light were breaking through the clouds, as the sun broke the ridge of the mountain, streaking the sky with a deep opalescence. Grey clouds, a rich blue background of sky, and a sprinkling of light prisming through the mist. As the curtain swept by a field of diamonds was spread out before me hanging from each blade of grass they sparkled in the morning light wherever the streaks of light met the ground.

An old row house full of little barking dogs and one old woman who was kind to others should they knock on her door.

The living room was completely full of...stuff. Boxes and boxes were stacked floor to ceiling, furniture was buried under the mass. Narrow passages worked their way through into the next room, which was the same as the first.

She bent over to smell the pretty flowers growing through a broken fence, her foot scuffing a loose stone in the old, pitted sidewalk.
