Does everyone really believe that Ariel Castro hung himself?

I'm not asking whether everyone is pleased that he is dead, I think that is obvious from all the comment boards. But, does everyone really believe he committed suicide? It was certainly odd that he took a plea deal so quickly when he could have probably gotten a better deal by going to court and pleading diminished capacity or something. It also seems extremely convenient that so many people wanted him dead and now he is. For such a cold blooded and heinous character, he seems to have been extremely accommodating in bringing about his own demise. Does everyone really believe it was suicide or do you think he had "assistance"?

Nope. Sounds like a big load of malarkey to me. Not alone, anyway.

He was suicidal, even before he was apprehended. His actions proved he was more than willing to cooperate with authorities, simply to hasten his death, if nothing else. In short, he committed suicide by cop. He just chose a long way around to achieving his death. But, yes, he was extremely accommodating in bringing about his end. Some people just don't have the courage to go through with suicide. But, they DO make it a lot easier for someone ELSE to kill them. In fact, their entire life's actions and behaviors are DESIGNED to ensure that they will be despised, even unto murderous rage. He probably wanted to die, even when he was a child. You will notice, when he WAS murdered, he certainly didn't call out for help. Yes, he committed suicide, when he was only a child. We just left a breathing corpse---until a few days ago.

I think he hanged himself. He could not tolerate the frustration of life behind bars with nobody to take out his anger on, and no alcohol to dull his mind. His mind was half-dead already; he was not up to all the fighting and lawyering. And when deprived of alcohol, he probably found it very burdensome to live with himself.
