I think that's exactly what he would say! Unless he could find a funnier way to put it. Which he probably could.
BUT consider where Carlin was coming from. Republicans and Democrats both disapprove of Obama's idea of bombing Syria but for completely different reasons. Carlin was a political independent, in fact he was anti-politics. So it's not exactly like he was agreeing with Republicans or Democrats or Peaceniks or non-interventionists or Al Quaeda or whoever.
