I want to build muscle?

I'm a 14 year old boy, 15 next month.

I want to start working out and building some big muscles.

I plan to go to the gym at school lunchtimes 3 times a week and do bench-press, bicep curls etc for the 45 minute dinner.

Then after school I will do 50 press-ups, 50 sit-ups and a 3 minute plank.

I eat 2 scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, nuts and an apple mid-morning, after gym, 2 peanut butter sandwiches and a banana or apple and after school a tin of tuna or a hard boiled egg. For dinner I have whatever my mum is making, it is usually homemade ad healthy.

Will I notice a difference in strength and muscle size?

Is there anything else I should be doing?

You are 14 years old. You don't need to have muscles.

If you exaggerate with your muscle training, you will stop your growing process.

    So don't over do it.

    A few push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and squats will do.

Also, go jogging or swimming. It will give you a nice set of lungs ;)

I would NOT use any bench press or dumbells if I were you.

If you want to get big, you are going to have to workout the biggest muscles on your body, and those are found in your legs. Do A LOT of squats and deadlifts. And check out Elliot Hulse on youtube. He has a channel called strengthcamp. He stands too close to the camera sometimes but he is extremely knowledgable and is a great communicator. He has over 900 videos so any question you have, he has probably already answered but you can also send him questions and he will try to post a video response.

Your body builds muscle naturally in response to strenuous activity. But if you’re daily routine doesn't involve challenging your muscles to grow

•High intensity interval training forms of cardio for a maximum of 20 minutes.

In order for muscle repair itself after your weight-training sessions it needs a great quantity of protein. Some beginners don’t take enough protein and some more experienced guys take extreme amounts of protein powder or juice. Protein powder helps to increase your muscle.
