Red currants vs. black, which is better eating?

I am getting ready to plant some more edible landscape shrubs and currants are on my list. The varieties I have available are Consort Black and Perfection Red. Can anyone tell me the differences besides color?

    That's a good question

Both are good. Just like cherries, black are sweeter.

I grew red currents and made pies with them. They have seeds, but so do blackberries and raspberries and I've made pies with those as well without hearing any complaints.

Black current is full of antioxidants called anthocyanins which keep you healthy. For more information look up Swanson health products.

The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.

Why not plant some of both?
