Opinions on a 2001 Ford explorer sport 4x4 2door?

I always drive Chevy's & went from a 2005 trailblazer that I wrecked to a 2009 equinox now but I am looking for a winter car with the 4x4 that I'm used to.

The one I'm looking at is the Ford 2001 explorer sport edition 2 door, with 4x4, no rust & only 120,000 miles and $1400.00 which seems like a great price & deal to me off a Craig's list seller that seems honest & has a shop doing this buying & selling thing as his business & he said he wouldn't want no bad coming back on him having a shop & all.

So does anyone have 1 & like it or had 1 & disliked it or was it a money pit ???

They also seem to have good reviews on the Kelly Blue Book website it's like 7.5 out of 10

Thanks

Update:

I'm going to drive it & have it looked at tonight especially for any kind of leaks.

Rust is the big factor, so if it's rust free, that would be a good price. Make sure the transfer case is working right. They had some problems and a rebuilt one would cost more than the truck.

My Explorer was the most trouble free vehicle I've ever had. $200 in repairs over 10 years and 160,000 miles.

If the tires need replacing, those and a bunch of other minor things could set you back a grand before you get it in top shape.

You should have it checked by an independent mechanic before purchase but otherwise it sounds like a good deal. The Explorer is a much better vehicle than your prior Trailblazer. Good Luck

    Exploder Sports are junk.

    The End.
