Well I would be happy to just give you a cheeseburger.

But if I ran a burger joint, I might front you one, and see if you paid on Thursday (it was Thursday). If you were trustworthy I'd just run a tab on you. After all, you'd be half my business!

I would say "Deal", but at 5% compound interest, you will owe me the cost of the Cheesburger .... plus .... an extra $1.50 on Friday.
