What the heck is a crumb check, and why do 100% of my answer posts fail it?

I can't find any explanation for it, and it started with the new interface. I've never even heard of such an error message in the old interface.

I found this definition of "Crumb":

"A Web site navigation technique. Bread crumbs typically appear horizontally near the top of a Web page, providing links back to each previous page that the user navigates through in order to get to the current page. Basically, they provide a trail for the user to follow back to the starting/entry point of a Web site and may look something like this:

home page --> section page --> sub section page

This technique also is referred to as a bread crumb trail."

So, it looks like Yahoo is just having trouble with thier site's pages loading correctly.

I recommend clearing your cache & cookies, closing browser, and restarting computer.

I think it has something to do with a registry problem: I found this on this site with a Google search. It probably could also have been found using the search option here. It's UK Answers, but it addresses the crumb error, which I'm sure is the same thing no matter where you computer is.

Could be dedicated to Salacious Crumb, one of the best answers ever on Y! Answers.

If it is, it checks to make sure the question is intelligible and in some sort of readable English.

It's basically a cookie related error, it typically happens to me when I answer a question and then try to edit my account information before pressing submit in the Answer form.

For me it's solved by just copying my answer text, refreshing the question page and then pasting then submitting the answer.

It probably does not contain a snarky comment like Salacious Crumb was.
