Now that yahoo canada is ugly, does anywhere still use the good interface?
I switched from the US site to the Canada site because the new interface is appallingly ugly and dysfunctional. And now Yahoo has "improved" the Canada site too. Am I going to wind up deleting my account, or is there some Yahoo Answers site out there still using the old interface?
2 AnswersOther - Yahoo Products7 years agoWhy do trousers have five belt-loops?
Every pair of trousers (I say trousers because pants means different things in different countries) I have ever owned, regardless of manufacturer or brand has had either five belt loops or none at all. From formal wear to summer shorts, it's always five. Not four, not seven, but five.
Why is this, and where did the custom come from?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoWhat the heck is a crumb check, and why do 100% of my answer posts fail it?
I can't find any explanation for it, and it started with the new interface. I've never even heard of such an error message in the old interface.
6 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoIs there any way to get rid of the appallingly bad new Answers interface and go back to the old one?
I can't find anything, the colors are ugly, and I hate it enough to stop using it. Is there any way to use the old interface instead?
3 AnswersMy Yahoo8 years agoCan anyone suggest a good zinc oxide ointment?
I'm looking for something with a high zinc oxide content, at least 40%. All the ointments I've been able to find are petroleum based, and I'd really prefer something a little more natural. Any suggestions?
1 AnswerAlternative Medicine8 years agoWhat is a good zinc oxide ointment?
I'm looking for a cream or ointment with a high zinc oxide content. Desitin is decent for zinc oxide content at 40%, but is way too stinky and greasy/oily. Can anyone suggest a better option?
1 AnswerSkin Conditions8 years agoIs there any legitimate residential use for anhydrous ammonia?
I use the work as a janitor in a bottling plant, and the odor of anhydrous ammonia is noticeably (to me at least) distinctive from ammonium hydroxide cleaning solutions. Every now and then I catch a whiff of anhydrous ammonia in my apartment, coming from elsewhere in the building. There are no commercial or industrial buildings that use it within a mile of my apartment. I know cooking methamphetamine uses it, but is there any legitimate residential use?
Or should I call the police?
1 AnswerChemistry8 years agoCan a Presidential executive order overrule a state or national constitution?
All fifty states have an amendment process for altering their constitutions. So does the U.S. constitution. If a President issues an executive order that would violate a constitution if carried out, does the executive order become null and void just as unconstitutional legislation would, or does it bypass the amendment process and create new law?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoIs there anything like Citizen's Arrest in Pennsylvania?
What law, common or otherwise permits it or denies it? If it exists, is it only for felonies, or does it extend, conditionally or not, to misdemeanors?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoWhy doesn't Yahoo Answers always collect questions for me?
I answer questions daily, and sometimes Yahoo Answers will collect a list of questions based on the questions I've answered in the past. Sometimes it does so multiple times a day. Other times I go weeks without it happening. Why does it work sometimes and not others?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers1 decade agoIs there an X-ray proof fabric?
More specifically, is there any commercially available fabric that blocks the nudie-scanners the TSA is using in airports, so that the scanner shows the clothing and nothing beneath it?
3 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhat non-marijuana plants resemble marijuana plants?
I've been hearing a lot of stories lately, about police mistaking other plants for marijuana, raiding the "grow operation" and tearing up people's landscaping for no good reason. Anybody able to name any plants that strongly resemble marijuana?
My reason is twofold. First I'd like to avoid getting my landscape torn up by the SWAT team. Second, my sense of humor and whimsy makes me at least consider doing it deliberately, as a prank on anti-gardening jackbooted thugs everywhere...
Garden & Landscape1 decade agoCitizens Arrest and Federal Laws?
While I know where I stand when making a citizens arrest of someone who commits a state-level crime in front of me (at least in my home state, Washington), does the same ability to arrest exist if the crime is a federal one?
Say, for example, I witness a violation of Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 13, Section 242 of the U.S. Code that involves the threat of violence (or its actual use). Could I legally perform a citizens arrest of the person who does so?
