Yes and no.
Yes, they get a sheet for the month of activities they can do at home.
No, it's not required.
If the do complete a few of the activities each week, they get a reward(ex. trip to the treasure box). So they are encouraging them to do some learning activities at home and giving suggestions for the parents on things that can help their child.

Mine got homework maybe once or twice in 2-3 weeks of school.. and I know they're in their evaluation period and a lot of the other kids come in not knowing anything yet (she confirmed this when I asked her a series of open-ended questions about her class activities) but it is frustrating, even to her. She complains that she learned nothing today every day and I tell her to just hang in there, her teacher will see how smart she is (and hopefully recommend her for a different program). It looks like since the class has to start at square one, that she might not get anything out of the entire year. I know it's a bit soon to really know yet, but you might want to look into other options for your child, too. At least talk to the teacher and see what her intentions are for the class and with your child. You want their brains to grow, not shrink :O
If you want to know what the homework was..one was 2 pictures where you spot the differences and I think the other one was tracing her name or something. The worksheets they bring home from class are an entire sheet on one letter or one number. For example the letter A, picture of apples, and a tracing/writing section. Very very very backwards.

My daughter is in full-day kindergarten. Her homework mostly includes things like being read to every night, practicing her letters, and things like that. Worksheets haven't been coming home, but we've been told that eventually they'll have 20-30 minutes of homework each night. I hate how difficult kindergarten has become.

My daughter does today was her third day and her second day of having homework some classes don't get it the first week or so but then others give it to them on the first day it all depends my daughter did not get her first assignment to the second day of school. If wondering why she did not get ask the teacher but if you don't see the teacher as got your child in before and after care then you can try going to the school website and usally got a list of the teachers with their email address to ask them stuff and to check on stuff as i emailed my daughters teacher today to see how she was doing as when i drop her off and pick her up the teacher is to busy making sure the kids are their and that all the parents are their to pick up their kids.
