  • Would you be offended by a child looking at you while spitting out food on the floor?

We were at McDonalds today and our son was getting full so he spit out part of a chicken nugget on the floor. Some lady at the table next to us had the nerve to tell whoever she was talking to on the phone that "I'm sitting here watching this boy throw food on the floor". Yes he may have dropped some on the floor but he was not intentionally throwing it on the floor. I don't know why she'd make that comment. All I can think of is maybe she was offended because he was looking at her while he spit out part of the chicken nugget. And she acted like my husband and I were deaf and didn't hear what she said....Would you be offended by a child spitting out a little food onto the floor in front of you? I just don't understand why this woman would make this comment when we were being quiet and minding our own business, even our son was being surprisingly quiet throughout the meal which is often not the case.

  • My son is over the weight limit for the 5 point harness on his carseat.?

Should I make the carseat a booster seat instead? The 5 point harness on his car seat has a maximum weight limit of 65 pounds and he now weighs 69 pounds. Should I make his seat into a booster seat instead or continue with him in the 5 point harness as is?

  • Would you have a birthday party?

for one of your 2 kids and then leave both the kids at the party while you drove back to your house a couple times to get various things for the party like ice cream? I went to a birthday party on Sunday and the dad hosting the birthday party left a couple times to go back to his house to get a couple things (one of which was ice cream) while he left his 2 kids at the party (it was at a park) to be watched by the guests at the party. Now I didn't mind watching his kids but I still think its kind of rude to invite people to your kids birthday party then expect them to watch your kids what do you think?

  • If you have a child with?

Autism Spectrum Disorder or Sensory Processing Disorder are they rough with their peers at school? My son has only been diagnosed with ASD but I suspect he also has SPD. He has many sensory issues, receives occupational therapy at school, and has just recently started wearing a weighted vest to help him calm/focus better. Sometimes I get reports from my son's preschool teacher that he is rough with peers at school. Most recently I got a report that he "attacked" a peer. I am so afraid of him hurting someone as he's only 5 but he's a pretty big boy already. Is this rough behavior because he is craving sensory input? That is what I am thinking. My son can be very touchy feely and likes to touch/hug others a lot. Is being rough to peers something that's commonly associated with Autism and/or SPD?

  • My neighbor won't let her 4 year old son?

play with my 5 year old son who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. (ASD) I think it is just because my son has ASD. My son keeps asking to play with my neighbor's son Hunter who is 4. I feel bad that his mom won't let him come out and play with my son for whatever reason :( What do I tell my son as to why he can't play with Hunter? I don't want to hurt his feelings but at the same time I have a feeling his mom is never going to let Hunter play with my son and I don't want to keep getting my son's hopes up that they "might" possibly play together sometime in the future.

  • How do I control my 5 year old's weight?

My son turned 5 on April 1st and he is 44" tall and weighs 62 pounds. He just had his 5 year well check up and his doctor said he is in the 97th percentile and is considered "obese". We have a YMCA membership and he does swim lessons, karate, and Kindersports so he is plenty active but the problem is he seems to want to eat all the time. For instance this morning he was up at 6am and ate a waffle and then wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before even going to school (his school starts at 9am). And then he will eat breakfast at school too and will want to eat as soon as he gets home from school (about 2:25). Now that it is nicer weather I can take him outside but how do I control his weight when he seems to want to eat ALL the time? I only give him milk and water but he eats a lot of carbs like bread, crackers, Goldfish. I really fear him being a 70 pound 6 year old. How can I make sure he doesn't gain any more weight?

  • Do you think 28 years old is young to have a 5 year old?

I turned 28 in February and my son just turned 5 on April 1st. Is this young? Sometimes I see moms 10 years older than me with a kid the same age as me and it just makes me think I am young to have a 5 year old.

  • My 4 and a half year old has started peeing his pants again?

This problem just started in the past 3 weeks since he started going back to preschool again after New Years. He has a new preschool teacher who started right after the New Year, old teacher's last day was the last day before Christmas break started. When before he would almost never wet himself with the old teacher now he comes home from school having wet himself anywhere from 1 to 4 times each day during the 5 hours he is at preschool! Its quite frustrating because he doesn't do this at home but will sometimes do it when we isn't inside the house, like if he is playing outside or at karate class. Any suggestions to stop this? They have him on a potty schedule at school and I try to keep the same potty schedule at home. I frequently keep him naked from the waist down now at home to avoid accidents, maybe he's having more accidents at school because he has underwear and pants on? I give him a sticker when he uses the potty at home but not sure how else to motivate him to use it? The problem only seems to arise when we are out and about or when he's at preschool. Please help! I want to put an end to this wetting because I know he does know how to use the potty.

  • Why do so many pre teens think they can write?

I mean just because you read Twilight or the Hunger Games does not qualify you to write the latest hit novel. I'm kind of sick of seeing the same question in Books and authors. Saying please read my story blah blah blah.
