I'm surprised so many people are answering just to call it stupid or idiotic. The question isn't about it's application or logic, just the name. That said, I do still have to agree that it's not a powerful kick, or very realistically wise.

The name is drop kick, and as everyone mentioned not exactly a powerful or efficient technique. Just looks very dramatic.

Crazy, that's what it is called in martial arts but it looks real good in the movies or demos. So try and ask this in the movie section. Their choreographers might have a name for this. Martial arts does not.
@ Oliver: HEY, those guys are cheating. They got mats. I want all the dark back alleys in my town to have mats like that just in case I am attacked an need to fight like that.
