Expired ID for non-driving use?
About a half hour I made this question and everyone said I can't drive with an expired id. I am currently in Michigan and will be past the expiration date which is one week from today. The only things I will be using the ID for is staying in a hotel and using it to buy an Amtrak ticket back to California. I do not have a car here so using the license to drive is a non issue here.
I have even paid for a new ID to be sent and it is at my home in California right now. But I need an ID when booking a hotel room and an ID for when I purchase my ticket to go home and that is all I need it for. Will the hotel or Amtrak refuse to do bussiness with me?

It is expired, so can be refused. Will it, I've no idea. You could have the document overnighted and avoid the problem all together.

At risk of repeating myself. An expired licence is just that. Expired and therefore not a licence. I think you will have to arrange a form of special delivery from home
