If Syria turns over tons of chemical weapons?

What will we do with it?

Safe disposal requires an expensive disposal plant to be built, hardly possible in the middle of a civil war.

Perhaps the Russians will accept it but hardly likely.

Maybe we will take it and store it with the tons of poison gas we are currently attempting to dispose of.

The US currently still has stockpiles of chemical weapons - to be used not in the first instance, but as a "defense" against chemical attack. I find the hypocrisy of that scenario quite breathtaking. Perhaps they will be sent to an existing location with increased security to prevent terrorists from gaining access to the supplies.

Kerry had talked about "unbelievably small" missile strikes which indicated to me that the US always knew where the chemical weapons were being held and why it became an issue in August is surprising, given a rebel group claimed "credit."

Just because a country "gives up" it's chemical weapons doesn't mean it cannot create more if they are able to get the chemicals from allies.

If Syria turns over its chemical weapons, nothing will be accomplished.

There are several countries that have disposal plants.

The United States and Russia both have one as we have been destroying our older stockpiles since the 90's.

FACT - we aren't really trying very hard to dispose of what we already gave. And if it suited their agenda our leaders would not be above using these agents themselves.

It's no big secret that the US Government has sanctioned chemical testing on it's own citizens in the past.

Perhaps Obama would offer to use them on Putin for punking him and making him look weak and impotent on the world stage.

It's amazing the blind faith so many people have in the trustworthiness and honesty of Putin and Assad.

    It boggles the mind.
