Why does Florida pay the lowest wages?

I thought maybe Alabama or Mississippi would be the lowest but Florida beat them all, and Orlando is the lowest wage city in the entire nation. Thank you Disney.

Governor Rick Scott uses tax payer money to encourage more business into the state. He gives them free land to build on, a cash bonus to start construction and then no taxes for years to come. All this to create jobs that pay sub-standard wages.

It's a swing state with lots of old conservatives eager to tell you that you aren't worth half of what you are getting paid and that your land lord deserves twice what you pay him. Too bad the only time the other half of the state comes out to vote when it's a general election.

This is NOT the answer you're looking for; but there is nothing illegal here. 1. You are being paid above the minimum wage. 2. You were aware what your salary will be before accepting the job YET you accepted it. 3. No one is forcing you to work there. 4. If you TRULY believe that your qualifications deserve a higher salary, why don't you go look for another job and DEMAND what you think you should earn. 5. I am not suggesting you quit now!! You should do that after you find the job which would pay you what you think you should be paid at.

Florida is also a lower cost of living state, plus there are no state taxes.

Disney is actually one of the more sought after companies to work for in Orlando. It's the biggest employer in the state.

Of course we want more businesses to come to the state... it brings in more jobs. Duh. You can't have a competitive wage earner's market if jobs are scarce.

Florida is republican and republicans love slavery. So does business. Nothing is more profitable than slavery. I personally don't want any businesses coming back from the foreign sweatshops until they're willing to pay american wages. if it's never, f*ck them. I'd rather die a free woman than a slave to corporate profits.

Yeah, but look at the unemployment rates in Florida as compared to other states. And I am sure that you can find higher paying jobs, if you go to school and learn a trade, or get a degree, and get a job and WORK your way to a better paying job.

Bryan It doesn't always work out that way. Do you have any idea how many people with Bachelors and Masters degrees that are being exploited.
