how does finding where a decease begins help cure it. Im watching the film "world war z" and wondering how does that make a difference in the research progress. explain the thought process behind this

I think you mean "disease".
It usually takes a long period of research to find where a specific disease or a virus began and to take steps to wipe it out. Some examples are the Bubonic Plague and the Red Death many years ago in Europe. Rats were the carriers of the Plague.
There are interesting documentaries about these things. Read research material on the subject. Search sources of such research material on Google. If things like this interest you, you might enjoy reading scientific magazines, some of which are on the magazine racks in large book stores. Google "scientific magazines" and you will get lots of things to look up.
Glad to see your interest in the subject. Too bad more people do not have an inquiring mind. We need millions of people like you.
